Journaling Through The Bible – Week 41 {Link Up}

I am reading and journaling chronologically through the Bible in 2017. Each Sunday I will post one of my journaling pages and thoughts from that week’s reading. I will also have a linky for anyone who would like to participate to share how their Bible reading and journaling is going!

The Reading:

It has been a crazy busy week with the kids passing around some mild bug. I have to admit my reading this week has been a matter of obedience without much chance to linger in it or ponder what I’ve read. As much as I love The Gospels sometimes familiar stories are easy to skim through without putting much extra thought in and I’ll admit that this week that has been what I’ve done. I don’t necessarily think it is wrong to do just a quick read sometimes, consistency in the discipline is important and there are times life doesn’t allow for much more. I am hoping, though, that I can spend a bit more time lingering over my reading this week.

The Journaling:

My 8-year-old asked to color a page this week and since I’ve spent most of my days attempting to comfort a crying, feverish, teething baby I welcomed her contribution! I picked up a new set of watercolor pencils at Hobby Lobby this week on sale and used my 40% off coupon to get a set of double tip makers as well. She used both on this page.

Last week Peabea shared some of her Bible Journaling pages as well as her regular lovely digital art and she shared a tutorial to make your own journal that is lovely for scripture journaling pages – make sure to check that out! Dani also shared her lovely artwork, it is always a blessing to see what she has done during the week so make sure to hop over there and show her some love!

Kids, Crunch, and Christ Journal Through The Bible

Update:

Wow, this week has been chaotic. I’m still working intensively on my kids’ behaviors. Most of them are doing well but the improvements are revealing some underlying problems I hadn’t seen before. My undivided attention was definitely needed and I’m glad I recognized that! One child having trouble with the new boundaries but I’m holding firm. This has meant less work on this blog (not that I’d been doing much this year to begin with) but hopefully, in the long run, will result in me being able to put more into it. I have tons of ideas to share with you just not much time! I’ve also had sick kids on and off, nothing major just an upset stomach here, a low fever there, but enough to keep me busy. I’ve also been struggling with allergies myself so that has slowed me down. I’m sure it is just a reaction to the weather change and trying to fight off all the normal fall bugs that go around this time of year. I’m sure all will be well soon!

  1. What an awesome job your daughter did on the page, and a learning tool for her as well. Looks great. Hope all feel better in the coming week. 🙂

    • Thank you! I wondered if anyone would notice that. My older daughter actually wrote it because she has the same set of markers for her Bible.
