Journaling Through the Bible – Week 39 {Link Up}

I am reading and journaling chronologically through the Bible in 2017. Each Sunday I will post one of my journaling pages and thoughts from that week’s reading. I will also have a linky for anyone who would like to participate to share how their Bible reading and journaling is going!

I am reading and journaling through the entire Bible in Chronological order in 2017, join me on my linkup!

The Reading:

Yay! I have reached the New Testament! The Old Testament is wonderful and full of great lessons and is obviously critical to explaining WHY we needed Christ to come but I sure was ready to get into the New Testament and the ministry of Jesus. One of the things I love about the Chronological Bible is having the passages about certain events all right together so you can compare them and get a complete picture of what happened.

The Journaling:

I wanted to do this page in a lot of gold but didn’t want to use my pen on the edging because it covers up the printed texture markings. So I used colored pencils then I outlined with the gel pen so it would stand out from the background but I think I should have skipped the outlining as it got a little messy (it is hard to color with a wiggly baby in your lap). I like the way everything else turned out. The oil pastel for the background worked wonderfully!

Kids, Crunch, and Christ Journal Through The Bible

Whew this week was busy and exhausting. I am doing some re-evaluating (I’m finding that re-evaluating activities and commitments is an ongoing process and have accepted that it will need to happen regularly) and praying about what activities I should really be doing and what I need to let go to focus more on the things that matter. This week showed me that I don’t have enough margin in my life for the season I’m currently in. I did however manage to get two extra posts up so I’m pretty happy about that!

This post is linked up to Scripture and a Snapshot at Glimpses of Our Life and Sunday Scripture Blessings at Peabea Scribbles and Inspire Me Monday at Create With Joy.

  1. Awe, missed linking this week. I’ll stop back for the current one. Love how the text ended up looking like raised text on your bible journaling.
