Journaling Through The Bible – Week 14 {Link Up}

I am reading and journaling chronologically through the Bible in 2017. Each Sunday I will post one of my journaling pages and thoughts from that week’s reading. I will also have a linky for anyone who would like to participate to share how their Bible reading and journaling is going!

I am reading and journaling through the entire Bible in Chronological order in 2017, join me on my linkup!

The Reading:

I have moved from Joshua to Judges. Once again the reading illustrates the Israelites messing up, being punished, repenting, being rescued and then starting the process over again. This time the rescues come in the form of Judges. Of course, I tend to think Deborah is the best one! I have read almost every day this week but I wasn’t always able to read two days worth so I’m still working on catching up from getting behind last week.

The Journaling:

Yep, the picture below is a blank coloring page. No color yet. This is the page I had intended to color this week. We had a crazy week (well they are all crazy but this one was busier than normal) and I was feeling particularly overwhelmed. I need to take a step back and evaluate the things going on in my life and make sure priorities are in the right order. I managed to do the reading but journaling isn’t a priority and didn’t happen this week. I have a baby going through a leap and growth spurt, my girls had their first baton competition, my kids are wrapping up their homeschool coop year and just a bunch of other things going on. Hopefully next week I will actually get some coloring/journaling done.

Kids, Crunch, and Christ Journal Through The Bible

Like I said above we have had a crazy busy week. I have also moved into a crazy busy season. It is spring and I am trying to get gardens ready and clean up our property (it seems to have been a bit neglected the last few years). So we have been busy outside. I have also started a bereavement doula certification program and have taken a year-round volunteer position with Operation Christmas Child. But most of all I am really focusing on putting my family and home before anything else. They are my top priority and my home still needs a lot of attention!! All of that said I am pulling back just a bit from the blog. I need some time to really think and pray about what I’m trying to do here and how best to go about that. I will still be posting these weekly Bible journal posts and my Life Giving Home discussions and I still have several reviews in the works but I will be reducing the number of reviews and making a plan going forward for what I want to do here and will probably be blogging less (my goal was really only 2 posts per week this year) to allow me to focus more on my family. I love blogging, but I am living my dream with the homesteading I can finally do and don’t want to miss it sitting behind a computer!

  1. I applaud your choice on the pulling back a bit. Not that I don’t enjoy visiting and reading, but so agree on how blogging and the computer world can eventually take over without our even noticing. As a mom of three very adult now children with families of their own, your choice will give you happiness when you look back. There are so many times that even though my kids weren’t little in the new computer world, I still wonder if I did as much as I could have so I tend to see how now would be even moreso had I been on a computer a lot. One thing for me is that now in retirement, it is nice for the interaction, but even a Spring and Summer approaches, I will still step away and enjoy the outside. ~hugs~ and have a great week.

    Thanks for visiting me. 🙂

    • Thank you for that encouragement!! I will still blog of course but will go back down do just a couple posts a week!
