Journaling Through The Bible in 2018 – Week 4 {Link Up}

I am reading and journaling chronologically through the Bible in 2018. Each Sunday I will post one of my journaling pages and thoughts from that week’s reading. There are several ways for you to participate see below for details!

I am reading and journaling through the entire Bible in Chronological order in 2018, join me for this Bible reading and journaling Challenge!

The Reading:

Still in Job. I’m trying to read and ponder but I’m not doing a great job! His friends make me think of the saying “with friends like that who needs enemies.” It seems they are basically arguing about whether or not suffering only happens to those who do evil. Of course, God will step in and set them all straight in a few chapters but I’m ready to be done with Job and move on. I really should do an in-depth study of this book some time to gain a better appreciation.

The Journaling:

This week was rough for us. We are working on getting the baby to sleep through the night but we are still at the point of not getting much sleep. My brain on little sleep isn’t very creative so I took advantage of this page to color and kept it simple. I did get the chance to watch a couple of the Bible Journaling Ministry course videos and they are good, definitely worth your time to check out their free beginner course if you are new to Bible Journaling.

Scripture Writing:

Part of my study this year includes writing out scriptures on certain subjects. They are women and marriage; children, family, and behavior; and feelings and the character of God. I keep these in three different sections of a multi-subject notebook. I share the scriptures I find in the facebook group, join me there to follow along!

Kids, Crunch, and Christ Journal Through The Bible

I don’t have much to update today. I mentioned earlier we are all functioning on very little sleep trying to get the baby to sleep in his crib through the night without needing a snack. I think (hope) we are almost over the hump! Next week will be very busy and my journaling post might go up a bit later next Sunday than usual. I have also been brainstorming and praying about what direction I want to take this blog and am going to attempt to bring more clarity and intention to what I am doing here. You will probably see some changes over the next few months but I plan to keep this series going!

  1. I love how your Bible quote turned out. The gold really pops off the page and the header and footer scroll work is beautiful.
    I also find Job such a struggle to read. A good message at the heart but so hard to find it.

  2. Have to agree. When reading Job, it seemed the criticism and his suffering was never ending, but I persevered through and read the entire chapter. In the end, the story of Job is worth the read even though tedious. 🙂

    • Thank you so much!! Give it a try! You really don’t need a special Bible or art supplies, just grab some colored pencils and sketch something in, around, beside, or over a verse that stands out to you!! Feel free to join the Facebook group if you are on FB for more ideas!!

  3. Oh my goodness I wish I had found your blog sooner!! I have been having a rough time lately and I have been putting my Bible time off 🙁 I have been praying very hard lately and really found that I was having some depression issues. I have always been interested in Bible journaling but I didn’t know the parameters of it all, but thanks to your post I can see it and I LOVE it!! I am going to order a journaling Bible. I am very much looking forward to reading your posts 🙂

    • Wow, thank you so much for your sweet word!!!! I’m so glad my post could inspire you to get started!! Don’t worry about doing it right just do what you feel led and take time to meditate on the Word, that is all that really matters! If you are on Facebook I’d love to have you join the group (the link is in the post) and you can share pics of your journaling there if you don’t share them on your blog and through the link up!
