Journal Through The Bible – Week 5 {link up}

I am reading and journaling chronologically through the Bible in 2017. Each Sunday I will post one of my journaling pages and thoughts from that week’s reading. I will also have a linky for anyone who would like to participate to share how their Bible reading and journaling is going!

I am reading and journaling through the entire Bible in Chronological order in 2017, join me on my linkup!

The Reading:

We made it through Job yay!! It always strikes me how abruptly Job ends, it seems rather anticlimactic but then again Job probably liked that!

Then I moved right in to the Exodus. I’m right in the thick of the ten plagues and it never fails to surprise me how arrogant and thick headed Pharaoh is!! Of course the Israelites will prove to be just as thick headed soon enough, and really, aren’t we all sometimes?

The Journaling:

I got a little more creative this week and drew my own picture! I’m not very happy with how my flames turned out but it is the process, not the product that is important!! I’m starting an online art class with my kids this week (more about that later) and I’m hoping to be able to apply some of the techniques I learn to my Bible journaling. In the meantime I’ll keep doing my best, meditating on The Word, and enjoying the process!

What I used for this entry:

Loew-Cornell watercolor pencils
Pilot G – 2 Gel Pens
Micron Pens
Close To My Heart markers (I don’t know if they make these anymore. I’d love to get a new set of nice markers for Bible Journaling and coloring, does anyone have any suggestions?)

  1. How fun to always meet another that is reading and journaling through the Bible. I’ve been at it steady (the reading and sometimes the journaling) since 2014. The group that I started with did it slowly so I haven’t made it through in one year. Your journaling pages look great. I use to would never write anything in a Bible, but have found notes actually on the pages as well in my journal are helpful and reminds when I was there reading with the date and parts I enjoyed highlighting. Enjoyed visiting you and always meeting fellow bloggers. I’m linking but it is my digital Bible journaling page from Peabea Scribbles. πŸ™‚

    • Oh I like your digital page what a neat alternative!! Thanks for linking up, I hope you join us each week! I joined your linkup as well!

  2. This is a lovely idea! I am not a Bible journaler, but I do take notes, which I like to come across again next time through. It reminds me of where I was in my journey.

    Your journaling is very nice.

  3. Still up to date with my reading, so far so good! I get zero to a tiny bit of coloring done each week. I’m not big into coloring but I figure it will prompt me to do a bit more each time I read through this version and hopefully one day I will complete it πŸ™‚

    • Yay for staying on track!! A little bit of coloring is good, I’ve only been managing to set aside one day a week for art but I’m hoping in a few weeks when we get back on schedule I can do more!

  4. What a wonderful way to go through God’s word πŸ™‚ I keep a regular notebook journal, but lately, I’ve been breaking out of the box a little and adding some hand lettering to my journal. Who knows? Maybe next time, I’ll add a little sketch. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you! Sounds like you have a good start experimenting! Of course there is nothing wrong with just journaling words!!
