Journal Through The Bible In a Year – Week 1 {Link up}

I am reading and journaling chronologically through the Bible in 2017. Each Sunday I will post one of my journaling pages and thoughts from that week’s reading. I will also have a linky for anyone who would like to participate to share how their Bible reading and journaling is going!

I had a busy week and nothing in this week’s reading really stuck out or inspired me to do my own art, so I used one of the pre-printed coloring pages in my Bible. I did manage to do my reading every day so I’m pretty happy about that!

On this page I used:

Loew-Cornell watercolor pencils
Faber-Castell Gelatos (for the birds’ stomachs)
Pentel Slicci metallic pens

Kids, Crunch, and Christ Journal Through The Bible

  1. I read all my days also- so far, so good! I’m trying to get in thr habit to read it first thing or with my breakfast.

    One part that jumped out to me was that God promised Abraham the land of Canaan forever. That prompted me to look up what that present-day area looks like. That then lead me to look up where the Garden of Eden was, which lead me to some thought-provoking answers.

    Here’s to next week!!

  2. What a great idea!! My boys got me a journaling
    Bible for Christmas!! Can’t wait to link up and follow along 🙂 I’m a bit behind; I needed a cord to print off a reading list, I want to go through chronologically too! Beautiful coloring BTW! Can’t wait to see more!!!

  3. My current Bible is filled to the edges with my notes and thoughts and prayer requests. One of these days I’ll need to get a journaling Bible when I run out of space!

    • That is great! I’ve actually always struggled with writing in my Bible. I’m hoping having the designated Bible for journaling will help me break out of that. I think I’m afraid I’ll “mess it up” or want to do something different later. So I’m trying to train my brain to go with what stands out at that particular time and not worry about what may be different later!

  4. I have often thought about Bible journaling. Unfortunately, every time I sit down to do it, I draw a blank. Guess I’m just not the artistic type. Your pages are beautiful though. 🙂

    • Thank you! I understand the drawing a blank. I am not that great at coming up with my own ideas so I often draw from others’ ideas and I love that this Expressions Bible has both blank margins and pre-printed images to color so if I’m not feeling particularly creative I can just color what is already there!

  5. One of these years I want to do a Bible in a year reading. I’ve got a whole bunch of other studies going on right now, though, so I don’t think it’s going to be this year. Love your art, though. That’s going to be such a lovely Bible when you’re done; a treasure.

    • Thank you!! I try to do a read through regularly but some years I take on other types of studies so I don’t or I don’t make it all the way through. It has been a few years since I’ve done it though so it was time :). Hope your studies are all amazing and fruitful this year!
